Brief Summary of The Book of Hosea

By DwellingWithGod

The Book of Hosea is the first of the Minor Prophets. Hosea was probably not the first chronologically; probably Amos, Obadiah, or Jonah was first. Hosea has been called “the broken prophet.” Because of the sad experiences in his own life, his wife had proved unfaithful.

The name Hosea is similar to that of “Joshua,” meaning, “Jehovah is Salvation.” Hosea witness the apostasy of his own people and understood God’s love for his children and the pleads to his people to repent. God simply will not let go of his people because of divine compassion for them.
